Welcome to Miller's Treasure Island

Hello Maties! Welcome aboard!

I am Mrs. Miller. I will be teaching you third grade reading. This year we will be using a pirate theme to find treasures in many types of literature: fiction, nonfiction, legends, myths, fables, fairy tales, poetry and biography. We will travel the world and learn about the ancient civilizations of Greece, Rome and Egypt. We will learn about the knights of the middle ages and early colonial America during the time of the Revolutionary War.

We will begin the year learning about pirates followed by a book study of Treasure Island: The Great Illustrated Classics .
